They are ready to help you get where you want to be – fully recovered.

Riverside Recovery of Tampa offers every level of care all under one roof, including detoxification, residential, day treatment (partial hospitalization) and intensive outpatient services. This is available for individual, group and family therapies. We also provide experiential and recreational therapies. Our facility includes a half-court basketball gymnasium, an exercise room with weight and elliptical machines, a pool, an outdoor sand volleyball court as well as a dock, from which patients can kayak or fish.

It’s important to know that while we do introduce you to the 12 steps, we do not promote any one fellowship over the other. What matters most is you. That is our single focus. It’s proven time and again that individualized care is key to recovery.

Our Beginnings

Riverside Recovery of Tampa is the brainchild of our two principal and founding members, CEO Scott Kelley and Vice President Kirk Kirkpatrick. The two men have known each other since high school and came back together years later in a manner which can best be described as serendipitous.

Scott was working for some of the biggest treatment providers in the behavioral health industry.  Scott held multiple clinical positions in Admissions, Case Management, Utilization Review, Marketing, Business Development and Operations directing those departments for the better portion of his 24-year career.  His dream was to start his own facility. He wanted to take the things he knew worked well and eliminate the things proven not to work.

Scott and Kirk Kirkpatrick went to high school together in Brandon, FL.  Kirk had a successful football career at the University of Florida and even into the NFL for a short period of time.  Kirk has his own recovery story and, having been to treatment as well as working a solid program of recovery, He asked Scott to meet about 3 years ago to discuss his dream of his own facility.  After speaking with Scott, they both agreed, “we can do this better.”

Together they use their combined 24 years of industry experience and personal recovery story to create a program that is truly patient-centered, state-of-the-art and focusing on the best kinds of treatment while avoiding the pitfalls that currently plague the industry. They chose Tampa as they felt it was very much an underserved market.

It wasn’t much later that their dream of opening their own facility, Riverside Recovery of Tampa, became a reality.
